Technip has announced that it has been awarded an engineering, procurement and supply contract by Total for the Moho Nord subsea project offshore Republic of Congo

Located offshore Pointe Noire, the brownfield project consists of two developments — The Moho-Bilondo Phase 1bis and Moho-Bilondo Nord — and consists of tie-backs to the existing deepwater Alima floating production unit (FPU) and the shallow-water N’Kossa platform, the French engineering company said.

The contract covers the project management, detail engineering, procurement and supply for the modifications of the Alima FPU.

Jean-Marc Aubry, senior vice president of Technip’s Region A, said, “This contract, the second one awarded to Technip for the Moho Nord development project, illustrates Total E&P’s confidence in our expertise. This fast-track project represents a milestone in consolidating our presence in the high-development potential West Africa offshore market.”

Moho Nord is reportedly the latest project to be developed in the Moho-Bilondo License which is owned 53.5 per cent by its operator Total E&P Congo, a subsidiary of Total.

Chevron and the state-owned oil company SNPC hold 31.5 per cent and 15 per cent interest respectively in the area.
