Total has awarded Technip two more engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contracts on the Egina oilfield, off the coast of Nigeria
The contract follows on from an award earlier this month which would see the French firm supply umbilicals for the same field.
The deep-water field lies about 150km off the coast of Nigeria within OML 130 in a water depth of up to 1,750 metres.
This deal covers the supply of 12 dynamic flexible jumpers for oil production, gas lift, water injection and gas export, to connect the single top tension risers to the floating production storage and offloading unit at the field.
It will also supply two 20.5-inch unbonded flexible pipes as oil offloading lines connecting the floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) to the offloading buoy, as well as associated ancillary equipment.
However, Technip did not reveal the value, saying that it was ‘substanital’. Unnamed sources said that the deal could be anywhere between US$133mn and US$332mn.
Technip’s Flexi France facility in Le Trait will manufacture the flexible pipes, which are scheduled to be delivered in 2015 for the jumpers and 2016 for the oil offloading lines.
Total operates the oilfield with a 24 per cent interest and is partnered by China National Offshore Oil Corporation (45 per cent), Petrobras (16 per cent), Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (10 per cent) and Sapetro (five per cent).
