Italian oil and gas industry contractor Saipem has entered into a joint venture with Nigeria-based industrial conglomerate Dangote Group to create a new company Saipem Dangote E&C
According to Dangote Group executive director Devakumar Edwin, the new firm will be a significant new player in the Nigerian and Central/West African market with high technical and financial capabilities.
“We are confident that our partnership with Saipem will position us as a major player in the oil and gas sector. Dangote Group will bring its financial strength and expertise in the African market to the table, while Saipem will complement with its capabilities in the exploration and construction sector to make a successful collaboration. Dangote Group and Saipem shall gain mutual benefit from this partnership,” Edwin added.
Saipem Dangote E&C will aim to secure complex engineering and construction projects and ensure efficiency in terms of costs and timing. It will also focus on flexibility in order to respond to different needs of specific exploration projects, noted the executive director.
