Subsea 7 SA has announced that its consortium with Technip has been award a contract by Tullow Ghana on the TEN Project offshore Ghana

The project is located in water depths reaching up to 2,000 metres in the Deepwater Tano Contract Area, 60km off the coast of Ghana. Subsea 7 will utilise its Seven Borealis vessel on the project.

Subsea 7 said its share of the contract was valued at approximately US$500mn and its scope of work would include the engineering, procurement, fabrication, transport and installation of 36km of pipe-in-pipe flowlines, as well as related flowline termination structures and structure foundation piles. Transport and the installation of manifolds, riser bases and flying leads also form part of the contract.

Subsea 7 senior vice-president for Africa and Gulf of Mexico, Olivier Carré, said, "We are delighted to be awarded this contract, which demonstrates Tullow's confidence in our ability to deploy our technologies and assets to a large deepwater project offshore Ghana. This contract award further expands our strong presence in West Africa into a new country of operations for Subsea 7."

Engineering on the project will commence immediately and offshore installation has been scheduled to begin in mid-2015.
