Norskeide Subseatec, a subsidiary of Scana ASA, has been awarded a contract to supply subsea equipment for field development in Africa and Southeast Asia

Total contract value is approximately US$1.4mn, with an option for an additional US$687,532.

The company will take care of total delivery of subsea equipment, engineering, procurement and documentation.

The products are delivered in accordance with the industry’s strictest requirements for developments in high-pressure and high-temperature applications, said Peter Jansson, general manager of Subseatec. Production is scheduled to start immediately. Delivery will start in the fourth quarter of 2020 and continue through the third quarter of 2021.

Jansson said, “The contract is a confirmation of our engineers’ leading expertise in advanced, forged products for the oil and gas industry. It also represents a strong recognition of our continuous product development within long forging steel components with high tensile strength, for use in risers for field developments in deep water.

“With the company’s origins in the steel business, Subseatec has a unique understanding of the properties and production methods required for each material quality. The company also has access to a strong and reliable supply chain for forging, machining, welding, coating, connections, testing and inspections.”
