Swedish equipment manufacturer Alfa Laval has concluded a deal with Jocam Nigeria to provide parts and maintenance services to the Nigerian oil industry

The investment will focus on the areas of skill acquisition, equipment maintenance and technology transfer.

Alfa Laval managing director Maryne Lemvik said that Nigeria was a fast-growing economy, which has become globally relevant to equipment manufacturers like the Swedish company.

Lemvik added, “We see growth and opportunities in Nigeria and we want to be fully involved. Our ambition is to provide key solutions designed for increased and efficient performance for companies in the oil and gas sector.”

Jocam managing director Nnamdi Okam said the upcoming Nigeria Oil and Gas (NOG) conference would afford the visiting team from Alfa Laval an opportunity to interact with clients with a view to understanding the challenges of equipment performance and maintenance.

Okam noted that Nigeria’s oil and gas industry has yet to attain its full potential because many key technologies and expertise needed for optimal operation are still sourced from abroad.
