International maritime design, engineering and risk management firm BMT Scientific Marine Services has been chosen by Esso Angola to maintain services on two Kizomba Tension Leg Platforms (TLP) located offshore Angola
Esso Angola is the Angolan subsidiary of ExxonMobil. According to the deal between the two companies, BMT will provide servicing and maintenance on system instrumentation that is usually exposed to offshore conditions, and ensure they continue to provide data.
In addition, BMT will provide client support service which includes biannual service visits with calibration checks, software maintenance and updates as well as remote technical support.
BMT had previously installed marine monitoring systems (IMMS) on the platforms as well as floating production storage offloading (FPSO) facilities.
Earlier in November 2014, the company secured a contract from Italian oil and gas contractor Saipem to deliver the riser integrity monitoring system for the Total Egina development located 150 km offshore Nigeria.
