CSA Ocean Sciences Inc (CSA), the US-based marine environmental consulting firm, has announced the appointment of Hema David to the position of project scientist who will work out of the company’s Trinidad and Tobago office and be responsible for the planning and execution of a range of marine environmental consultancy services
Her scope of work includes permitting applications, environmental impact assessments, environmental management plans, and multidisciplinary coastal and offshore survey and sampling campaigns.
Prior to joining CSA, David worked as an environmental scientist and ecologist for an environmental consultancy firm in Trinidad, where she successfully completed a wide range of marine environmental monitoring and sampling surveys, in addition to preparing and delivering a series of comprehensive environmental baseline studies and management plans for a range of coastal infrastructural projects.
David’s first assignment, already underway, is to provide technical expertise for a critical produced water environmental monitoring survey off the southern coast of Trinidad for a major offshore developer to anticipate, manage, and mitigate any potential environmental impacts triggered by water discharges from an onshore terminal facility.
CSA Group CEO Kevin Peterson said, “Supported by CSA’s international network of industry-leading subject matter experts, cutting-edge technologies for shallow and deep-water surveys, and propriety data management systems, our expanding Trinidad and Tobago operations, bolstered by Hema’s arrival, will prove instrumental to serving the evolving needs of subsea and offshore operators throughout the region.”
Speaking of the appointment, David expressed her excitement and added, “I look forward to contributing to the next chapter in the company’s growth plans in the Caribbean.”
