Exxon Mobil has announced David Liang as the new chairman and managing director for its three Nigerian affiliates
He replaces Paul McGrath who after three years is taking the post of vice-president global for ExxonMobil, Houston, the USA.
Exxon Mobil upstream affiliates operating in Nigeria are Mobil Producing Unlimited, and Esso Exploration Nigeria, and Esso Exploration Nigeria involved in the exploration and production of crude oil and natural gas and operate several joint venture concessions and deepwater production sharing contracts.
Exxon Mobil is also a major manufacturer and marketer of commodity and specialty petrochemicals, with interest in electric power generation facilities.
Liang is a degree holder in mining and petroleum engineering, joined the company in 1989 and has held a variety of engineering, planning and managerial positions in upstream and downstream operations in the UK, US, Qatar and Nigeria.
Liang said his new appointment is a privilege to lead the ExxonMobil team in Nigeria and build on the work that Paul McGrath has done over the last three years.
