PGS has been awarded a 3D exploration contract in West Africa, and a Ramform Titan-class vessel is scheduled to commence the contract early February 2022 and will complete mid-March

Rune Olav Pedersen, president and CEO at PGS, has welcomed the move and reinstated the company’s role in supporting the exploration activities of its customers.

In August 2021, in partnership with PetroCi and Direction Générale des Hydrocarbures, PGS completed phase two of the Côte d’Ivoire MegaSurvey, adding 9,897 sq km of 3D and 24,632 km 2D in the Tano Basin. The MegaSurvey coverage allows the entire West African transform margin to be analysed in a regional context. PGS 3D data along the margin covers existing discoveries, farm-in opportunities, and open blocks available for licensing.

Additionally, the company released an additional 1,000 sq km of reprocessed 3D data from OPL 248 to support Niger Delta exploration.
