Oil has been discovered at Total’s Ivoire-1X exploration well offshore Côte dIvoire

The French company said that the well, located in the west zone of Block CI-100 and in 2,280m of water, found approximately 28m of net oil pay in around 101m of Cretaceous reservoirs.

Operated by Total E&P Côte d’Ivoire, Ivoire-1X is the first well drilled on the CI-100 Block to a total depth of 5,045m.

The data acquired during drilling is currently being analysed to develop an appraisal programme for the reservoirs discovered and explore identified prospects further east in the block.

Total E&P Côte’Ivoire operates the Block with a 60 per cent interest. Yam’s Petroleum and Petroci Holding hold 25 per cent and 15 per cent stake each.
