Libyas oil production in June averaged 1.15 mn barrels of oil per day (bopd), unchanged from the previous month
The National Oil Corporation (NOC) is active in bringing mothballed assets back into production to increase output, but recently, downside threats to output have looked more significant than upside potential.
According to the International Energy Agency (IEA), oil production has been at its current level since September 2022. The NOC regularly announces good news on capacity. On 25 June, the corporation said that two oil wells in the Murzuq Basin had returned to service after maintenance work. The NOC did not communicate the two wells' output but said that it is on track to meet its target of raising total output to 2 mn bopd by 2025.
