AGM Petroleum Ghana has announced that it has received government approval to explore the Tano oil block offshore Ghana

Partners in the oil exploration project will be the government of Ghana, Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC), AGM Petroleum Ghana Limited and Exploration and Production Company Limited (EXPLORCO).

The area South Deep Water Tano Block, which covers 3,482 sq km, is near the Cape Three Points.

No minimum work programme or time frame for exploration was disclosed by the companies and Ghana's Parliament not has yet to ratify to the deal.

In late May this year, Tullow Oil was given the green light by Ghana’s government to proceed with the development of a series of oil discoveries known as the Tweneboa-Enyenra-Ntomme or TEN Project in the Tano Block.
