General Electric (GE) has announced its oil and gas facility in Onne, Rivers State holds an excellent safety record
For the last decade, there have been no reported incidents at GE’s Onne facility that have resulted in lost work time for any of the technicians, engineers or other personnel working in the facility, stated GE.
President and CEO of GE Nigeria Dr. Lazarus Angbazo said, “This achievement was due to GE’s outstanding Environmental Health and Safety standards and all the employees in Onne that make quality and safety an integral part of how they operate on a daily basis”.
Dr. Angbazo stated the safety record at the Onne facility highlights GE’s commitment to localisation, further investment in the Nigerian economy and the creation of jobs for Nigerians.
GE received a ‘Meritorious Safety Performance Award,’ which is an award that Shell Nigeria Exploration and Production Company (SNEPCO) gives to its partners that promote excellent safety standards.
Angbazo stated GE will continue to enhance service capabilities in Onne by implementing training programmes for engineers and technicians.
