European Hydrocarbons has received approval for a two-year extension for its second exploration period offshore blocks LB-08 and LB-09 in Liberia

The LB-08 second exploration period two-well commitment has been now moved to the third exploration period, the company said.

The subsidiary of African Petroleum is expected to work with National Oil Company of Liberia (NOCAL) to implement a work programme in the blocks, which includes additional 3D seismic acquisition.

Meanwhile, the Sierra Leone Petroleum directorate had also approved European Hydrocarbons’ two-year extension for the initial exploration period under the SL-03 Petroleum Agreement, offshore Sierra Leone.
