The rig will conduct work on the companies’ projects off the coast of Cameroon and Equatorial Guinea for 240 days from October this year, with an option for another 40.
Atwood said the day rate for work offshore Cameroon would be about $126,000, while the work offshore Equatorial Guinea would have a day rate of about $134,000.
“With the award of this contract, the firm contractual commitments for the Atwood Aurora are expected to extend through May 2012,” the company said in an announcement.
