The Nigeria International Petroleum Summit (NIPS) will be held in Abuja from 19 – 23 February 2018, focusing on the petroleum technologies and business opportunities across Africa
The conference focuses on creating a platform for the world leaders to meet Nigeria's oil and gas industry players, thus helping Nigeria positioning itself to be the foremost oil and gas investment destination.
A number of major Nigerian political decision-makers, government officials as well as directors and specialists from the Ministry, NNPC and other relevant governmental bodies, multinational organisations, the academia and other relevant stakeholders are expected to attend the event.
During the summit, an international exhibition of economic operators, national and international companies and investors will present emerging technologies in the petroleum sector.
The Nigeria International Petroleum Summit will provide a platform for the participants to network with the industry leaders, which will help in generating directs sales leads and developing new businesses.
The event will host a number technical sessions to discuss current oil and gas market trends and the impact of petroleum industry in the long-term energy policy in the region. The session will also discuss Africa’s role as n emerging gas producer, its prospects and opportunities in international markets.
The petroleum industry in Nigeria is one of the largest in Africa with oil and gas reserves of 37 bbl and 192 trillion cu/ft respectively. The sector contributes about 10 per cent to the country's GDP and accounts for 95 per cent of all exports.
