Amy Jadesimi, CEO of Lagos Deep Offshore Logistics Base (LADOL), has been awarded Africa’s young CEO of the year at the Africa CEO Forum, held in Abidjan from 26 – 27 March 2018
The award recognises Jadesimi’s role and the work LADOL is doing in Nigeria and Africa.
Positioned strategically at the entry-point to Lagos harbour, LADOL aims to provide a one-stop-shop for multinational industrial and oil and gas companies operating in West Africa.
Speaking to the press, Jadesimi said, “We are currently transforming into a sustainable economic zone, so we can help drive the creation of, and benefit from, the US$12 trillion that could be created if private sector pursues sustainable business opportunities.”
She thanked all the employees of LADOL to work hard and make the company one of the region’s leading bases for rig and vessel repair.
She further added that it is very crucial for women to come to the forefront and take an active role in the development of the industry in West Africa.
Every year, the Africa CEO Forum awards recognise the leaders, companies and investors whose strategies and performance drive Africa's growth over the past year. The seven awards in the event range from African Company of the Year to Private Equity Investor of the Year. This year, more than 200 companies, investors and CEOs have been nominated over the last five years, reflecting the vitality of Africa’s emerging economy.
