More than 150 well intervention experts are expected to attend the Offshore Well Intervention (OWI) Workshop from 7-8 March 2018, in Accra, to discuss well intervention and P&A strategies
The discussions will focus on increasing efficiencies and reducing the cost of deepwater and shallow water projects.
The workshop will focus on exploring West African offshore opportunities and discuss the scope of work and equipment availability to improve well intervention economics.
Furthermore, it also aims to discover innovative approaches to eline, slickline and CT can help to get the most out of West African shallow and deepwater assets.
During the workshop, Tullow and Marathon Oil will examine how collaboration between operators can possibly help to expand the scope of work and improve well intervention economics in the region.
Sonangol said that it will share the results of an enhanced oil recovery technology and the potential of the project in extracting remaining reserves in a cost-effective manner in Angola.
France’s Total and Chevron Nigeria will showcase acid stimulation case studies, discussing the vessel selection process to share lessons learned and results. Italy’s Eni said that it will discuss deepwater rigless matrix stimulation job and highlight improvement of sand control techniques offshore Nigeria.
Important topics for the discussions will include:
· Acid Stimulation: Analyse why a standard ROV support vessel was used for effective production enhancement (stimulation) and interference testing.
· OiI Intervention Services: Discuss an offshore hydraulic well intervention and understand how the project increased efficiencies for the West African client.
· P&A: Discuss how the spear can be set and unset multiple times and consider how this can significantly reduce non-productive time on subsea projects.
