South Sudan’s export of Dar Blend crude will hit seven million barrels in August this year, up 40 per cent from last month, according to South Sudanese Oil Ministry sources

Dar Blend exports for June and July 2013 were at 2.2mn barrels and five million barrels respectively.

This jump in the supply is expected to continue to depress spot differentials of competing grades from Asia-Pacific and West Africa, the sources added.

The South Sudan government issued a tender in first week of July to sell 3.2mn barrels of the heavy sweet crude in August to Chinese refiners and trading companies including Arcadia and Trafigura, Reuters has reported.

The rest of the barrels will likely be marketed by China National Petroleum Corporation International (CNPCI).
