State-owned National Oil Infrastructure Company (NOIC) has acquired a fuel depot in Zimbabwe’s Bulawayo city for US$3.6mn as it moves to push its products in southern and western regions of the country
Zimbabwe’s energy and power development minister Samuel Undenge said that the new depot has a capacity to hold 1.9mn litres of fuel. The depot will facilitate blending and distribution of fuel in both the regions, he added.
“The company did not have a fuel depot in that part of the country. The depot will, therefore, facilitate blending and distribution of fuel in the southern and western regions. The depot has been refurbished and is now ready to be commissioned,” noted Undenge.
Currently, NOIC operates five depots in Beira, Feruka, Beitbridge, Msasa and Mabvuku in the southern African country.
Undenge revealed that progress has been made towards positioning Zimbabwe as a regional centre for the supply and distribution of refined fuels.
