FRENCH GIANT TOTAL has found “positive results” at its Moho Nord Marine-4 well, about 75 km off of the Republic of Congo.

BP has made its eighteenth discovery on ultra-deepwater Block 31 offshore Angola.

The discovery, named Oberon, is in the southern portion of the block about 335 km northwest of Luanda and 4.3 km to the northeast of the Dione discovery.

TULLOW ANNOUNCED THAT the Kigogole-3 exploration well, which is located in the Butiaba region of Uganda Block 2, has encountered over 20 m of net oil pay in two separate zones.
Located approximately one km from the crest of the structure, the well was drilled to a total depth of 575 m and has been successfully logged and sampled.

ON 5TH May, ARKeX signed a long term agreement in Algiers with Sonatrach, the state oil company of Algeria, in the presence of Monsieur Chakib Khelil, the Minister of Energy and Mines.

UK-BASED OIL explorer Heritage Oil agreed to merge with Genel Energy International, a unit of Turkeys Cukurova Group CUKRO.UL, to create an oil producer focused on Iraqi Kurdistan worth around US$5.5bn.
