CNOOC Uganda Limited has contracted with the Uganda Petroleum Institute Kigumba and Sunmaker Oil and Gas Training Institute to offer free training in 3G and 6G-coded welding
The programme will take up to 160 individuals. On successful completion of the course, candidates will receive an AWS Certification.
Interested candidates must be above 18 years of age. They must have good mathematical skills (advanced numeracy) and a clear conception of physics (basic knowledge in electricity). In terms of physical fitness, clear eyesight is especially important. Applicants should be prepared to stay at the institute throughout the training period. The venues for training are Kampala and UPIK, Kigumba.
For 6G welding, proof of training and certification in 1G, 2G and 3G-coded welding is mandatory.
Application forms will be available at the Petroleum Authority of Uganda, Hoima Regional Office, besides the District Community Development Officer's office in Hoima, Kikuube, Nwoya, Masindi, Buliisa, Kibaale, Kiryandongo, Kakumiro, Kagadi, Kyankwanzi, Mubende, Gomba, Sembabule, Lwengo, Rakai and Kyotera. Deadline for application is 20 January, 5pm.
