Focusing on new deepwater projects in East and southern Africa

The fifth Deepwater East & Southern Africa Congress 2020 is dedicated to new deepwater investment and engagement opportunities in East and southern Africa

It will focus on deepwater projects in Brulpadda Discovery, Rovuma Basin, Tanzania Coastal Basin, Lamu Basin, Orange Basin and more.

The congress, co-located with the East & Southern Africa Gas & LNG Conference, will take place in Maputo, Mozambique on 2-3 April.

It will bring together NOC participants, local authorities, investors, IOCs, EPIC contractors, drilling contractors, FPSO owners, oilfield service providers, equipment vendors, OSV owners and professional service providers.

Updates on Deepwater E&P Activities in Rovuma Basin (Area 1 and Area 4)

The organiser has stated that coral natural gas field located in Area 4, offshore Mozambique, is being developed by Eni as the operator. While the other partners, namely Galp Energia, KOGAS, Empresa Nacional de Hidrocarbonetos (ENH), each hold a 10 per cent stake.

The first phase of development of coral discovery includes the development of five tcf of gas and is estimated to cost US$8bn. Production from the field is expected to begin in 2020. The total reserves in Area 4 are estimated to be 140 bcm of gas.
