Addressing the nation during his inaugural ceremony at Kololo Air strip, the president said he had found it economically viable for Uganda to start using Sudan oil especially diesel.

“I have informed the presidents of Sudan and Southern Sudan on the arrangement of importing Sudan oil which is cheaper”, he said.

Museveni also revealed that diesel from Sudan is already on the Ugandan market specifically being used in West Nile in the northern region.

Opposition politicians recently launched a “walk to work demonstrations ” in the country against the increasing fuel prices and high cost of living, which has increased to 11 per cent.
