Mustafa Sanalla, chairman of the board at National Oil Corporation (NOC), has met with Tarek El Molla, minister of petroleum and mineral resources of the Arab Republic of Egypt, to strengthen mutual cooperation for the development of oil and gas sector in the region
The meeting addressed the technical needs of the Libyan oil sector to which the Egyptian petroleum companies may contribute in projects of rehabilitation and infrastructure in oil and gas networks, maintenance and construction of new tanks, technical services, ancillary services, training, specialised professional development, conferences and exhibitions.
In April 2017, Sanalla issued the decision no 67 regarding the formation of a committee to study aspects of mutual cooperation with the Egyptian oil and gas sector.
It was also agreed that the first meeting of the specialised technical committees from both the Egyptian and Libyan parties would be held in January 2018 to follow that matter.
For his part, El Molla asserted the strategic dimension of the bilateral relationships between the two countries and the readiness of the Egyptian petroleum sector to contribute to rehabilitating the oil and gas facilities in Libya.
The meeting was attended by Mohamed Safan, senior under-secretory in Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources of Egypt, Jadalla Alaokali, member of the board of NOC, Ownees Elisawi, member of the management committee at Arabian Gulf Oil Company, Musbah Matoug, legal advisor at NOC board of directors. In addition, a number of officials from the Egyptian Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources also attended the meeting.
