US-based FMC Technologies has received a contract worth US$393mn from Eni Angola to supply subsea production systems for its deepwater Block 15/06 East Hub development

FMC Technologies senior vice-president, Subsea Technologies, Tore Halvorsen said, “We are pleased to have been awarded the subsea production systems contract for Eni’s Block 15/06 project. We look forward to working with Eni on this offshore project.”

Eni is the operator of Block 15/06 while Sonangol EP is the concessionaire. The other partners of the joint venture are Sonangol Pesquisa e Produção, SSI Fifteen Limited and Falcon Oil Holding Angola SA.

Earlier in December 2014, the US firm was also awarded a US$268mn subsea systems contract from Chevron subsidiary Star Deep Water Petroleum Limited to provide subsea equipment for operations in Agbami field offshore Nigeria

The Agbami field is located 113 km off the coast of the central Niger Delta region, at a water depth of approximately 1,463 metres.
Halvorsen added, “FMC Technologies has supported the Agbami field development for several years. This subsea equipment will provide additional production and help extend the life of this deepwater development.”

The stakeholders in the Agbami field include Famfa Oil Limited, Star Deep Water Petroleum Limited, Petroleo Brasileiro Nigeria Limited, Statoil Nigeria Limited (Statoil) and Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC).
