Aker Solutions has announced that it has sealed a deal on a new umbilicals contract with ENI for the Block 15\06 development project in the Angolan deep water region
The Norwegian contractor plans to supply 34km of steel tube umbilicals for the west hub of Block 15/06 off Angola.
“This contract reflects our strong ambitions for West Africa and our capabilities in Angola where Aker Solutions has invested for several years. We look forward to executing this project together with the client ENI,” said Tove Røskaft, head of Aker Solutions' umbilicals business.
The West Hub development project, which is part of Block 15\06, is situated around 350km northwest of Luanda and 130km west of Soyo in Angola.
The main field is Sangos, which has two satellite fields, Cinguvu and Ngoma.
The system operates through subsea umbilicals being positioned on the seabed to provide necessary controls and chemicals to subsea oil and gas wells, subsea manifolds and any subsea system needing a remote control.
Set for delivery in the first quarter of 2014, the umbilicals will be manufactured and delivered out of Aker Solutions' facility in Moss, Norway.
