CGGVERITAS HAS BEGUN a new 1,500-sq km, 3D seismic acquisition survey over block 2714A off Namibia for Chariot Oil & Gas. The program was agreed by Chariot’s subsidiary Enigma Oil & Gas Exploration a new farm-in partner Petrobras, which is paying half the costs of the survey.
Chariot expects the campaign to last around three months, followed by processing and interpretation. Following the acquisition of 3,000 km of 2D data over Chariot’s blocks offshore central Namibia, the company has contracted Brazilian geophysical consultants Stratageo Solucoes Tecnologicas to process the data. However, Chariot has decided to terminate its contract with technical consultants High Resolution Technology & Petroleum.
