Libyan National Oil Corporation has called the international oil & gas companies with whom it has signed oil & gas exploration and production agreements, to lift the force majeure declared by them
NOC welcomed them to resume their work in Libya and assured them of its readiness to provide all necessary support to resume their operations, as well as assisting them in facilitating the return, along with providing a safe working environment in cooperation with the civil and military authorities of the Libyan state.
This call comes considering the corporation's efforts to raise force majeure after following up an objective evaluation based on a realistic and logical analysis of the security situation, which, it said, has begun to improve dramatically, and led to the commencement of excavation work in sites where it was difficult to work in the recent past, in which there are now many global service companies.
Mustafa Sanalla, the NOC chair, said that Libya has the capability to produce 3mn bopd, earlier this year. A majority of the North African country's revenue comes from the oil and gas sector.
