Chariot Oil and Gas Limited has announced that it has entered into an agreement for the acquisition of a 2,174km 3D seismic survey in Block C19, offshore Mauritania
The oil and gas company has contracted seismic vessel operator,
“Chariot continues its aggressive exploration programme within its broadening West African portfolio. This 3D seismic acquisition campaign will enable the company to mature the subsurface potential of Block C19 and create a portfolio of prospects in our Mauritanian acreage,” said Paul Welch, CEO of Chariot.
The programme is expected to commence on 15 November 2012 and the acquisition is expected to take around 90 days to complete.
Block C19 in which Chariot has a 90 per cent stake, is situated in the Central Atlantic Margin, offshore
The objective of the 3D survey is to find both structural and stratigraphic traps that offer potential for large trap sizes.
