South Africas energy minister has said that the country will continue to import crude oil from Iran, despite current US sanctions

Dipuo Peters said that any disruption to South Africa’s oil imports from Iran would create major problems as one of its main refineries operates with Iranian crude.

According to news agencies, Pretoria imports 26 per cent of its oil supplies from Iran, of which 80 per cent is used to produce gasoline for vehicles.
