EGYPT AND SWAZILAND have signed a MoU to promote co-operation and exchange expertise in the electricity and energy sectors.
The Minister of Electricity and Energy, Hassan Younis, made the remark after a meeting with Princess Tsandzile, Swazilands Minister of Natural Resources and Energy, while in Cairo for talks on ways in which to promote cooperation in the electricity sector.

The talks tackled the means available to offer technical support in the electricity domain for Swaziland and benefit from Egypt's expertise in the field, Younis said.
Under the MoU, Egypt will organise training courses for Swaziland's engineers and technicians in the electricity sector. The two countries will also work on encouraging investors to participate in energy projects under the Build-Own-Operate-Transfer (BOOT) system in addition to establishing joint projects to supply Swaziland’s market with electrical equipment, Younis added.
While in Cairo, Princess Tsandzile is expected to inspect the New and Renewable Energy Authority (NREA), North Cairo power station, and a number of companies manufacturing electric equipment and other electricity facilities.
