Average oil production in Angola stands at 1.6mn bpd, representing a growth in production that will lead to the country hitting targets of two million bpd, according to the country’s oil minister
Angola oil minister José Maria Botelho de Vasconcelos said, "With the increased production of oil, the government will maintain its target of daily production of over two million barrels of oil from 2015."
The minister also noted that Angola would soon experience a positive growth towards oil exploration and production sector. The growth will be driven by the increased number of investments by foreign players, he added.
A recent report by Ecobank Research said that the production increase would also be driven by a new project led by Total SA, which will add between 160,000 - 200,000 barrels of oil to daily production.
