A leading manufacturer of cable cleats has increased its automation capacity for cable cleats production, thanks largely to big orders from the oil and gas industry
The capacity increase has been implemented at CMP Products' UK-based production facility.
"Demand for cable cleats is increasing across the oil and gas sector as design engineers look to make installations as safe as possible - and with CMP's reputation for quality and safety, we are seeing the direct results in our production figures," said Trevor Herron, chief operations officer at CMP Products. "Higher than expected orders from around the world have allowed us to accelerate our automation schedule, resulting in five robots being installed since the start of the year."
In line with the expansion of the company's cleat manufacturing facility, a bespoke automated welding machine has been developed to allow for quicker, easier production on multiple lines within the cleat range. The automated welding device is set to reduce cycle times by more than 50 per cent.
