Oil and gas exploration company Eco Atlantic has completed 1,000 km 2D seismic survey on the Guy Block located in the Walvis Basin offshore Namibia

According to the company, the 2D seismic survey was executed by seismic service provider PGS Geophysical using its GeoStreamer technology. Eco Atlantic has also contracted PGS Geophysical to begin processing the 2D seismic survey data.

Colin Kinley, CEO of Eco Atlantic, said, “The Guy Block in the Walvis Basin is a strategic asset for Eco Atlantic and our partners, Azinam and NAMCOR. This 1,000 km 2D seismic survey programme has allowed us to further focus our exploration and add to our existing seismic database on this block.”

Eco Atlantic owns and operates four licenses in Namibia, three of which have more than 21.5bn barrels of prospective resources, covering 28,500 sq km of the Walvis Basin. In November, the company also completed the 1,097 sq km 3D seismic survey on its Cooper Block located offshore Namibia, reported the oil and gas exploration company.
