DUBLIN-BASED PETROCELTIC International has found gas in the AT-1 probe drilled to test the Ain Tsila field in Algeria’s Isarene permit.

Gas was flowing at 7.75mmcfd to 11.4 mmcfd during tests run on the Ordovician zone.

Wireline logging were better than pre-drill estimates, due to deep gas water contact at 1948 m, according to Petroceltic.

AT-1 has been completed as a future producer.

Meanwhile, drilling is ongoing at the AT-2 well, the second well testing the Ain Tsila field. Petroceltic intends to test the INE-2 well after completing AT-2.
