Erin Energy has announced it has spud oil from Oyo-8 well located in OML 120 offshore Nigeria
Oyo-8, which was drilled in Q3 2014 to a total depth of approximately 1,850 metres, was successfully completed horizontally in the Pliocene formation. The well is located in 300 metres of water and is expected to produce approximately 7,000 bpd following cleanup and optimisation of choke size.
Erin Energy senior V-P of exploration and production Segun Omidele said, “We are quite pleased with the initial well performance and will be working over the next few days to optimise the flow rate. Bringing this well on production is a milestone achievement for our organisation and was made possible through the hard work and dedication of our entire team and our service providers.”
Erin Energy is the operator of the Oyo field with 100 per cent interest in the block.
