Flowline Specialists FZE and Motive FZC, the UAE arms of Oldmeldrum-based Flowline Specialists and Banff-headquartered Motive Offshore Group, have MoU agreement to collaborate on a number of projects in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA)

The move will see Flowline Specialists FZE and Motive FZC jointly bid on oil and gas projects in the region, providing a cost-effective and streamlined procurement process for MENA clients.

Both companies offer a range of complementary modular back deck equipment operated by their own personnel including spoolers, tensioners, reel drive systems, winches and shears. By working in partnership the firms aim to strengthen their service offering and broaden their project capabilities.

Opportunities exist in the Middle East for both the companies, with significant investment continuing to be made by oil and gas operators across the region. A recent report by Siemens also highlighted an expected growth in renewable energy, which reflects the plans of national governments in the Middle East to increase energy production from renewable sources in the coming decades.

Graeme Chalmers, operations manager at Flowline Specialists FZE group, said, “Establishing an MOU between the Middle East divisions of our two companies was a natural step, having already worked together on a number of projects. We are currently jointly bidding on various cable lay projects across the region and with different governments intending to grow their renewable energy sectors, many more future opportunities exist.”

“The MOU is designed to strengthen the service Flowline Specialists FZE and Motive FZC offer to clients, while at the same time simplifying the procurement process,” Chalmers added.

Eddie Moore, manager at Motive FZC, commented, “Over the last two years, the businesses have benefitted from working together across the GCC region and the MOU strengthens our position further. With both companies naturally servicing a similar client base, we can now offer turnkey solutions and support from our local bases under a single contract."

Headquartered in Oldmeldrum, Aberdeenshire, Flowline Specialists designs, engineers and manufactures a wide range of equipment for the global oil, gas, subsea and renewable industries.
